manta ray

We finally saw the Manta Rays. I’ve always loved those big animals. There are huge!! The biggest they have in Kona is 9 meters wide. It’s so impressive and amazing. They eat plankton all day long and never sleep. As for the whales, I forgot to say that...

Whales

We saw some dolphins and 3 whales included a mother and her baby. The mother jumped completely out of the water and the baby came close to the boat and hit the water with his tail while turning around himself. Amazing!! And here are 2 videos

Hilo

Hilo is on the other side of the island. It much greener there and there’s many waterfalls. This is a town we saw on the way. Do you remember that Lukas? We saw it on the T-shirts in Thailand. And this is Hilo. So ugly!! It was very windy and it rained...

Our hotel Those guys built their houses on the lava. They don’t have water and have to have it brought and stored in a tank in their garden. This is the volcano park. We could see some lava glow. This is the other side and the north part of the island....

lava tube

On the way back home we found a lava tube. On this one, the roof collapsed but near to the volcano there is one that’s still closed and looks like a real tube. We crossed it all, it was impressive how long it was.

Green sand beach

On the way we saw a lot of lava flow. Lava is everywhere. We saw a village on a lava flow. All around us we could just see houses with no green garden, no trees, no flowers…just lava. Long walk under the sun to see the only green sand beach in the world!...

Hawaii
